Here is my review on Ginny Weds Sunny. Should you watch it or leave it?

Ginny Weds Sunny is a debut movie for the director Puneet Khanna. The storyline of the movie is way slimmer to cross the 2-hour mark. If you are or were wondering whether to watch the movie or not, here are my thoughts that might help you to spend your weekend watching this or something better.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Yami Gautam as Ginny, and Vikrant Massey as Sunny, play the roles to their best potential. The movie might have been a bigger disaster if it weren’t for Ginny and Sunny.

This is Yami Gautam’s debut movie for the OTT platform. She managed to pull off the character as if it was her own. Vikrant Massey is known for his unforgettable acting skills in web series like Mirzapur, Made in Heaven, Criminal Justice, and Rise.

Sunny (Vikrant Massey) is a sweet-natured boy who is always trying to be there for his loved ones in the wrong situations. The character that Vikrant Massey plays is very new as compared to his recent filmography, but he nails it well.

On the other hand, Ginny is a straight-forward, independent, environmentalist girl who is just opposite to Sunny’s character. In case you are looking for a jodi as opposite as this one, the movie is surely made for you.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Alright, the story is a total mess from the start till the end. Let us break it down for you.

Sunny is a chef that is planning to open a tandoor restaurant in West Delhi. However, his father asks him to settle down and get married before he can get permission to open a tandoor restaurant.

Ginny is hanging out with her ex-boyfriend who is filthy rich and refuses to commit to the relationship. Trying to move-on, Ginny meets Sunny in a wedding ceremony in a dance-off. This is very convenient since Ginny’s mother is a wedding matchmaker.

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Coming to the point, Ginny weds Sunny is a light rom-com for people who want to spend a weekend watching something light. This movie is a great one-time watch that too for people who like light romance, good chemistry, amazing performances, and full-bass songs.

If you are looking forward to a great story, amazing direction or perfect love story, this is not a movie for you.
