Lying in the lap of Pir Panjal Himalayan ranges, Kullu-Manali is among the famous hill stations in India. October to February months are the best time to enjoy thrilling activities in Kullu-Manali though the climate of these hill stations goes through four-season change all year round.

1. Zorbing

At a distance of 14 KM from Manali, Solang valley is the best place for Zorbing as it is a hotspot of adventurous sports. May to November is the best time for Zorbing in Solang valley.

The guide will ensure your safety all the time during the activity. Age above 12 years and a maximum weight of 100 kg is allowed in this activity.

2. Paragliding

A small training session will be provided by professional instructors before the activity. The instructor will provide all the safety equipment and a licensed pilot will take off the flight with you. Kullu-Manali has multiple paragliding sites but Dobhi, Solang valley, Bijli Mahadev, Kangra valley, and Marhi are some iconic paragliding sites. 

Enjoy the activity between 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. The duration of the paragliding session will be approximately 15 minutes.

You can enjoy river rafting from various locations Pirdi, Bajaura, Sharabai, Bhuntar, Shamshi, and Babeli. You will be rafting through various waterways amidst dense forests, gorgeous landscapes, and hilltops. 

Instructors will guide you in a training session and during the activity in the Beas river. 

They will provide you with safety equipment, life jackets, helmets, and rafts to ensure a safe ride. Kullu-Manali river rafting has three types of variants depending upon distance and duration at a pocket-friendly price. 

The activity is suitable for those above ten years old and weight above 20 kg. 

You can go river rafting throughout the year but the ideal time to indulge in its glory is April to June and October to March. 

5. Skiing 

The region Kullu and Manali have numerous skiing zones as the region receives a good amount of snowfall every year. Manali offers some great skiing zones including Rohtang pass and Solang valley. At an elevation of 8500 Ft, Solang Valley is considered as the best skiing zone offering an abundance of snow and a huge variety of snow-layered slopes. Solang valley is an ideal place for both beginners and expert skiers on white mountain slopes. 

The trained expert will introduce you to techniques of skiing, you will learn basic moves like balancing, turning, and downhill skiing on the snow. 

You can experience the thrill of skiing at Solang valley between 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. December and January are ideal months for skiing as heavy snowfall covers the area with its milky shade.

6. Mountaineering

For this activity, you need training, discipline, and adaptability to survive at low oxygen altitude. You can also enroll in short-term training courses for appropriate training. Beas Kund region, the lower ridges of Hanuman Tibba and Deo Tibba, Chandratal and Malana glacier, Pin Parvati, Patalsu peak, Kanamo peak, Dhauladhar ranges, Reo Purgyil, and Rangrik Rang are some prominent peaks for mountaineering. The average duration of the mountaineering trip will be 4 days to a week. 

The best time to go mountaineering in the Kullu-Manali region is March to June in a pleasant climate.
