What is NCR Paper?

What is NCR Paper?

Our paper is a specific type of paper used for cheque printing. The term NCR stands for 'no carbon required, which means that this type of paper doesn't require carbon paper to produce a copy of the document. This makes NCR paper ideal for cheque printing, as it ensures that there is no risk of a double print being made.

Our paper is created by laminating a sheet of carbonless copy paper with a second sheet of card stock before cutting it to size. Our paper is also available in two different grades; one for printing low-resolution images (such as logos) and another for high-resolution images (for example, photographs).

Our paper is widely available in most print shops; however, if you wish to purchase in bulk or order online, NCR Paper can also be purchased directly from the manufacturer. NCR paper is used with laser printers and inkjet printers alike, although care must be taken when using an inkjet printer as the ink may not dry properly and could smudge the ink on the other side of the paper.

What is NCR paper used for?

NCR paper is a type of paper that can be used for many different purposes. It is made up of many different types of materials, such as clay, talc, calcium carbonate, titanium dioxide (TiO2), etc. The name "NCR" stands for No Carbon Required, meaning the paper does not require any carbon to make it.

NCR Corporation originally introduced NCR paper in 1894 to provide an alternative to metal-plate engraving and printing; however, this technology did not quite take off at the time because it was not able to maintain quality images over long periods of time like metal plate engraving could. The invention of the laser printer in the 1980s would change all this for NCR because the laser printer required paper that did not need to be sprayed. Now, more than twenty percent of all paper comes from this "no carbon required" process.

NCR paper is often used in recording devices such as check writers and cash registers. Because it requires no carbon, it can be recycled multiple times without losing any of its qualities, making it an environmentally friendly option. Additionally, NCR paper is known for being able to produce clear and crisp images, making it a popular choice for printing documents.
