Tanmoy Biswas: A Telecom Engineer

1. Can you please tell us a little bit about yourself and your Blog?

Hi, I'm Tanmoy Biswas, a Telecom Engineer by profession, & a backpacking nomad by soul. I was born & brought up in Kolkata, IN. Since childhood, I had an ambition to explore places & my blog is just an integral part of my nature.

My blog - A Telecom Engineer's backpacking life is a platform where I've tried to showcase my travel exploits as well as my work life. Along with these, I put efforts into trekking, story telling posts .

2. What did you do before Blogging? What inspired you to start blogging?

Honestly, I was subscribed to many blogs since I was in High schools, though all were related to music & Technology, gadgets, space . I was more than inspired for blogging, even my elder brother encouraged me a lot for this.

So since I was in college, I already had started blogging about technology, music. Tech crunch, Pulse (right now its a part of Linked IN) these were my first inspiration. But I used to do guest posts since I didn't have enough money to set up my own dedicated blog. It was lots of struggle to work in free servers & the database were lost so many times.

But finally in B.Tech 2nd year(2012) after my break up, It was a time to invest full concentration & I started to think why not to do blogging in full fledged? So that was the start. No I'm not stating my break up inspired me. Ha ha ! But yes it was the catalyst to the way of my professional blogging.

3. As a blogger, what are the challenges you face? How you overcome it?

The most challenging thing in this fast paced generation is Time. I can recall when it was 2012/13, people used to own a habit of reading text. Engagement time for a page used to be in the range of 3-5 minutes per user. But now everyone running after shortcuts, like - Video, even GIF. because no one cares about watching a 10 minutes video or a 800 words article. so, this thing also bring an impact into blogging strategy. There're sometimes, when I have lots of things to say but i had to keep that in short, like a summary.

4. What would you consider to be your biggest achievement in your journey so far as a Blogger?

When I receive lots of emails & comments sharing their gratitude or queries. I cant portray all those now. But yes i want to mention an incident - an Engineering student followed my blog & was seriously interested about being a Telecom Engineer. He already had completed all my categories about "Telecom Engineer" life. When someone use to show a finger towards you & shares," yes ! I want to be a Telecom Engineer like you." that feeling is something different.

Well I'm not a proud person by nature, but yes these things motivate me in my career as well. So after 1 year approximately, he bagged a job in Telecom industry & informed me how happy he was.
This was no doubt a story to mention, side by side with regular good comments.

5. Have you worked/collaborate with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with

Sadly no big brand. But in my city I've collaborated with a blogging community - "Kolkata Bloggers", who are also working hard to uplift passionate & dedicated bloggers in Kolkata.

6. What is your primary income source?

Sorry but blog is not my primary income source. Apart from my job, I've my start up company, some music projects, which can be considered as primary source. Although Ads & Referrals are little sources whom I consider secondary or maybe tertiary source . Chill.

7. Top 3 Blogging tools that you would recommend to your readers?

1. WordPress
2. Google analytics tool
3. Google webmaster tool

8. One piece of advice that you would like to share with all new bloggers?

Blogging sounds so cool, but in practical its not. You've to put a hell lots of effort, mental stress, creative thoughts, even physical efforts sometimes. But if you're passionate enough, of course you can crack it.

Before setting up your blog, find your perfect niche, because you've to work for your target audience. Not everyone will be interested with everything you write in your blog.

9. Finally, what are your thoughts about IndiBlogHub?

Skill Infinity is a nice platform to collaborate, backlink creation, share. Its a platform where I met few new bloggers & was surprised with their dedication to blogging. Kudos to Team skill infinity.
