1. Can you please tell us a little bit about yourself and your Blog?
Hi, myself Jayashree Sengupta, a civil engineer by profession, now researcher at IIT Kharagpur, with an appetite for traveling places in a more instinctive way- absorbing the culture and the tradition, the dialect and the geography of the place. So in a way I like traveling in between my research.
My blog is more of a showcase of the places I visited, through my lens and words to the other person (bedouin) on the other side of the computer screen and hence the name 'DoiBedouin' representing the presenter and the audience solely.
2. What did you do before Blogging? What inspired you to start blogging?
Well before starting the blog I was already into research, I am still pursuing it. I started blogging as a hobby, honestly because the newsfeed of facebbok got boring.
So I thought of writing about the places I visited along with the photographs I clicked. (My peers said that my clicks are improving after I started blogging, which really feels good.)
3. As a blogger, what are the challenges you face? How you overcome it?
Well that would be SEO. I started off as a simple blogger then I got to know about search engine optimizations and stuffs that would really help my blog. With time I realised that blogging is as hard as doing research.
We researchers do a literature survey before getting into our full fledged work, in a similar way I read about the hows and whys of blogging and I interacted with fellow bloggers to know about the same. As a whole, the rank improved and traffic is getting a bit better.
4. What would you consider to be your biggest achievement in your journey so far as a Blogger?
Well my blog is 10 months old and 6 months after I got the domain, and the DA improved to 24 within this 6 months. Still a long way to go really.
5. Have you worked/collaborate with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with
No not yet. For brands to notice I think I have to wait a few more months.
6. What is your primary income source?
To be very honest, my scholarship. From the blogging perspective, I have adsense approval few days back; the income is yet to touch the minimum level.
7. Top 3 Blogging tools that you would recommend to your readers?
I use Blog compass to understand the trending searches.
Pinterest app and Mix/Stumbleupon app is very useful as an agrregator app. Any social platform would be great from that perspective.
The most useful is the alexa and moz shortcut on your browser toolber. Infact IndiBlogHub has the widget for it which helps the other bloggers to understand the score of your blog, which in a way help you to get guest blogging opportunities, thus giving the backlink options.
8. One piece of advice that you would like to share with all new bloggers?
