Interview with Vimal Bhatia: Indian Travel Blogger | Blog @ TRAVEL THROUGH INDIA

1. Can you please tell us a little bit about yourself and your Blog?

My name is Vimal Bhatia. I completed my engineering 34 years back and have served in many organizations in various capacities. Right now I am running a travel blog by the name 'Travel Through India'. India's vast treasure is never fully explored. This is a blog as much about my travel stories as about the most exotic but least explored places of India. I want people to know about some of the hidden treasures of our country.

2. What did you do before Blogging? What inspired you to start blogging?

As I said earlier, I worked with different organizations in various capacities. I even worked as Human Resources specialist for some years in spite of my engineering background. I have always been more than an enthusiastic traveler. Any traveling opportunity coming my way excites me. I enjoy the journey more than the destination. Initially it was a casual thought to write something about travel but it was only recently that I decided to write about my experiences as also to bring to people, the new and less explored destinations in India.
What started as a casual affair, has become a passion now. I love writing about travel and related topics and am actually enjoying it. So here I am , having started a new journey at the young age of 55.

3. As a blogger, what are the challenges you face? How you overcome it?

My biggest challenge as a blogger is to write a unique and authentic content. I write as much for myself as for others. So my aim is to bring to the table, something which gives creative satisfaction to me and fulfills peoples' quest for authentic information. For this I rely on my own experience of traveling and also do a lot of research before putting in any information on my blog.
Second challenge is to know what my readers are looking for or what they want to read. So for that I read other bloggers' posts and comments on them by people, which give me fair idea of what people are looking for.

4. What would you consider to be your biggest achievement in your journey so far as a Blogger?

I have not been very long into blogging. It has been only 4 months since I started blogging. I would reckon my biggest achievement is the complement given on one of my blog posts by a very well recognized travel blogger, who has been in the business for a number of years. I think that values more than anything else.

5. Have you worked/collaborate with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with

Not yet. As I said, I have been into blogging for a very short time and haven't got any opportunity to collaborate with any brand.

6. What is your primary income source?

Right now, I am focusing full time on traveling and blogging. This is my passion and I am totally hooked to it.

7. Top 3 Blogging tools that you would recommend to your readers?

Three must have blogging tools I would recommend are:
1. A good web host
2. Social Media Tools
3. Build good e-mail lists.

8. One piece of advice that you would like to share with all new bloggers?

As I shared earlier, for me the most important aspect of blogging is content. Always be original. Never try to copy anyone. Develop your own unique style. Write authentic and quality content. Do not compromise on the quality of your work and you will go places.

9. Finally, what are your thoughts about IndiBlogHub?

Skill Infinity is a great initiative to enable bloggers to showcase their work. I would suggest it to be made more interactive and also help bloggers to build links for their blogs.
