My all time favourite plugin is all in one SEO plugin.
My reference also changes according to my blog needs.

1. Yoast seo (old)
2. Rankmath (new)
These both plugins have powerful features but not work for all, for some yoast is better and for some rankmath
Other than this there are other popular plugins, but used less or not known to many
1. Jetpack (seo)
2. Seopress
3. All in one seo
If you want free solution yoast, rankmath, jetpack is nice to go.
If you are buisness go for yoast/rankmath paid plans.
Rankmath have additional benefit of Google search console and analytics integration.
