To disable Windows Defender Permanently in Windows 10, follow these steps:

1: Click on Windows-key and open Start Menu.

2: Type gpedit.msc and hit Enter. Then click on Local Group Policy Editor in the search result.

3: Go to the following path: Computer Configuration >> Administrative Templates >> Windows Components >> Microsoft Defender Antivirus

4: There you will see the policy “Turn off Windows Defender Antivirus”. Double-click on it.

5: Select Enabled option and click on OK.

Once you have completed the step, restart your computer. This step will permanently disable Windows Defender Antivirus in Windows 10. But the “Shield” icon will still be visible in the taskbar.
