AMP or accelerated mobile pages was a hype previously but not now, as people do have to limit functionality in AMP pages over regular pages. Google has dropped significance of ranking with AMP pages, and that is just optional now.
But adding AMP pages help people see content faster, and google still will show AMP pages.
AMP pages are for performance over design and serve for decreasing the bounce rate as people can see content faster and with slow connections, so better user retention.

Accelerated Mobile Pages is called Google AMP in short form. It is an open source framework that makes any website page an AMP page, with the help of which the website can be opened quickly in a very short time on mobile. When a plugin is installed in a website, it creates a separate AMP page in addition to all its canonical pages. And when a smartphone user opens that page in his phone, instead of the canonical page, the AMP page opens but it opens very fast.

For this AMP uses Javascript, HTML and Cache. From this canonical page, as much content is visible in the page of its version as the user gets complete information about it. He does not show the extra things that are there, due to which the page becomes very light weight and opens at a fast speed.

Nowadays everyone has a smartphone in their hands and people use Smartphone from getting up in the morning till going to sleep at night. We all know very well that people do most of the work in the smartphone. Very little use of computer. 70 -80% people use Smartphones only for web-browsing. This figure is very high compared to the computer. There was a time when all the work was done by computer only. There was no other means of doing online related work without computer. But Smartphones solved all the problems.

The more traffic on the website / blog also comes from the Smartphone itself. Since now in Smartphones people mostly use the Internet and also do Browsing. Keeping this in mind, this facility was started. Its specialty is that it opens webpages in the blink of an eye. This makes any type of blog / website capable of superfast browsing.

Using this, we can increase our traffic a lot and also give good browsing experience to the user. When the loading speed of the website will be less then the traffic will also increase well and that is why it supports SEO a lot. If the website speed is good then it also affects the user and due to this the user comes to the website again.

How did Google AMP start?

To improve the performance of the mobile web, Google talked to news publishers and technology-related companies and announced about the Google AMP project on 7 October 2007. 30 news publishers and technology companies such as Pinterest, LinkedIn and WordPress started this project with Google.
