Do add Google captcha to stop spam, as spam comments mostly comes from bots. GCpatcha will stop all the bots and so spam.
If you looking to block comments that are not relevant but from genuine users, do use plugins like Akismet which filter out some keywords and you can block/delete all by keywords

Login to the Cpanel of your website and select File Manager > Public_html >.htacces. Click on Edit. Paste the code given below and save it.

Order Allow, Deny
Deny From Xxx.xxx.xxx.xx
Allow From All

Instead of xxx, enter the IP address of the comment.

Spam comments will stop coming after setting this
