TLD is short for a Top-Level Domain. TLDs are the topmost or root-level domains. like example.com here this domain is a top-level domain. all domains starting with a single extension like .com, .in, .net etc are TLDs.
domain with extensions like .co.in, .co.ca etc are second-level domains.

Top Level Domains (TLD) are also known as Internet Domain Extension. This is the last part where the domain name ends. With the help of this domain, you can easily rank your website. It is very SEO friendly. And Google Search Engine also gives more importance to it.

Example TLD Extension from which anyone can buy

.com (commercial)
.org (organization)
.net (network)
.gov (government)
.edu (education)
.name
.biz (business)
.info (information)

TLD stands for "top-level domain." In the context of the internet, a top-level domain (TLD) is the part of a domain name that comes after the "dot" (e.g., .com, .net, .org). There are several different types of TLDs, including generic top-level domains (gTLDs) and country code top-level domains (ccTLDs).

gTLDs are the most common type of TLD and include familiar domains such as .com, .net, and .org. These domains are intended to be used for general purposes and are not restricted to any particular country or region.

ccTLDs are TLDs that are specific to a particular country or region. For example, .uk is the ccTLD for the United Kingdom, and .jp is the ccTLD for Japan.

TLDs are used to identify the type of website or organization that a domain name represents. For example, .com domains are often used by commercial websites, .org domains are often used by non-profit organizations, and .edu domains are used by educational institutions.
