Almost each and every child has played this game or something similar to it. It is one of the easiest games one can play. One person will look around and choose any object that is present there and then say they will ‘I spy with my eyes something beginning with (f). At which point the other people must try to guess what object beginning with the letter f he/she is thinking of and is present in that environment.
We all have played the actual version of this charades game people use actions instead of words to act out the title of a movie, book, or song. But for the kids this kind of activity can be used for reviewing key vocabulary and terms that students have already learned. This is a easy game to play.Write down the key words from the lesson on the pieces of paper and put them all in a small container. Then divide the group into 2/3 teams. Tell one person from each team to choose a piece of paper and act out the word without speaking or making any noise. If the team guesses correctly, then they will get a point.
Hangman is a classic classroom game that probably we all have played. In this game students try to guess the word the teacher is thinking of by guessing random letters of the alphabet. If students guess the wrong word then the teacher will draw a picture of a hanging man. But if the students guess the alphabets wrong too many times and the teacher completes the picture, then the students lose.
In this guessing game, think of any word then give the kids 3 clues as to what the word is by saying sentences as if he/she is the object. For example, if the word you're thinking of is ‘Elephant’ then the 3 clues that you might use can be “I am big. I have big ears. I have a trunk. What am I?” This is a great way to let the students think deep and use vocabulary and in a fun review activity.
