  • In January 2018, China implemented its "National Sword" policy, which banned the import of 24 types of solid waste, including plastic waste.   • In North America, the plastic recycling capacity has also been growing steadily. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported that the country recycled over 3.02 million tons of plastics in 2018.
