1. Can you please tell us a little bit about yourself and your Blog?
I belong to Punjab - Born in Ghaziabad - Spent 21 years of my Life in Rohtak,Haryana - Currently Living in Noida. I love exploring food, flavours, cosmetics, Brands, Products and always up for learning more about skincare. I believe in Higher Power (GOD) and topics like Spirituality and Astronomy are of my interest.
My Blog - The Pink Velvet Blog is all about Beauty and Lifestyle. You will find product reviews, website reviews, Brand or Product launch, Skincare Tips and more on healthy lifestyle on my Blog. Along with this, I do blog on Food and Restaurants sometimes.
2. What did you do before Blogging? What inspired you to start blogging?
Like everyone else, my target was MBA from IIM and then a great paying Job. I even bought books and studied for CAT and other exams. I completed my school with 94% in 2013 and completed Graduation in 2016 in B.com(Hons.) from Delhi University. But I realized I am not able to give my 100% to my books and next my target was a Bank Job. (Shifting decisions was not easy though, it took lot of my mind energy and time). I registered for 1 year course classes but again, I was not 100% into it. (Now I am feeling like I wasted 3 months in Bank Classes).
Meanwhile, I was getting active on Social Media and started enjoying it. There was a new trend for me called Blogging and started loving that how people (Bloggers) sharing their thoughts on Brands on social media. I used to read Rati Tehri's Blog for reviews but never thought this can be my career. It is only when NYX launched in India and how they marketed their products through social media and people called "Bloggers"! Being into Skincare, Cosmetics, having a marketing background, I realized this is exactly what I want to do. (Yes, I did a lot of research day and night on Blogging and Bloggers).
On the day of my Bank exam, I decided to quit, and shared to my parents that I just can't do it. I am having that suffocation and I can't waste my life. Next I explained what Blogging is and they knew my Interest for Beauty and Internet. They accepted my decision and I never looked back then. (It was a big challenging decision)
3. As a blogger, what are the challenges you face? How you overcome it?
In Blogging, there is a thing "free stuff". Though not totally free, we work for it. You start getting social attention, you get to visit Interesting places, meet new friends and it is a Fun life. But when you are into it, there will be people who are just not happy with it.
In my experience I got lot of taunts and jealous comments because of stuff I was getting from Brands or events I used to visit as a part of my Blog. I used to get hurt and demotivated because of this.
I shared all this with my family and luckily they are supportive and by the time I have overcome and now I just Ignore that negativity. De-motivation and to face negativity is the biggest challenge.
4. What would you consider to be your biggest achievement in your journey so far as a Blogger?
When I get appreciated by my readers or Brand owners, I feel like I have achieved it. Especially when readers message me that my blog helped me and then reach out to me for their skincare concerns, it is really an achievement for me.
5. Have you worked/collaborate with brands? If yes, name few brands you worked with
Yes, I have worked with number if National and International Brands luckily :) To name few, Lakme, Maybelline, Himalaya Herbals, Avon, Olay, Pantene, MuscleXP, Myntra, VLCC, Limecrime, Ariel, Biotique, FabBag, Organic Harvest and many more.
6. What is your primary income source?
Sadly, not blogging. I feel like it will take more time for blogging to be my primary source of earning. I am a social media manager where I manage Brand's social profiles and currently, this is my primary source of earning.
7. Top 3 Blogging tools that you would recommend to your readers?
Sharing your Blog on social media and Facebook groups, using free blog submissions, Cloudflare, plugins like Addthis, and skill infinity is no doubt one of my favorite for traffic and backlinks. Using Grammarly to be sure your blog is error free. And next is Google. Keep googling new things and doubts to take your blog on another level.
8. One piece of advice that you would like to share with all new bloggers?
No doubt it is a fun and rewarding job but be prepared for lot of hard work, mental and physical strength. Initially, you won't even get paid. If you are into blogging as your passion, don't let negativity or jealousy effect you.
9. Finally, what are your thoughts about IndiBlogHub?
Skill Infinity is really helpful when it comes to traffic and back links. Sharing is easy and even let's connect with other Bloggers and clients.
