Delhi, the capital city of India, is a fascinating blend of history, culture, architecture, and modern lifestyle. Red Fort

Red Fort is a historic Fort which is situated in Delhi. The height of the Fort is 18 – 33 meters, and it is designed by architects. And it was constructed by the Mughal Emperor. They started to build this Fort on 12th May 1639 and ended this project on 6th April 1648. It took around 9 years to complete. This fort is architect by Ustad Ahmad Lahori. The fort was plundered of its artwork and jewels by Nadir Shah. Most of the fort’s expensive marble, stone, and jewelries steal by the British.  Every year on Independence Day, our Prime Minister hoists the Indian Tricolour flag on the date of 15th August. It has a big museum, a Diwan-e-Am, and a Diwan-e-kh for the public. And there are many shops and stalls.

India Gate

India Gate is also a historical monument, and it was built in memory of 70000  soldiers. The work on India Gate began in February 1921 and ended in February 1931. It took around 10 years to complete.  Most people and foreign tourists like to see in India Gate that is Amar Jawan Jyoti which is a tribiute to Indian Soldiers who lost their lives during the war. Their are sprawling green lawns on both sides of  India Gate, which enhance the look of this monument. When you visit at India Gate, you feel patriotic. So you must visit. 

Humayun’s Tomb

Humayun's Tomb is also the most popular tomb, which is located in Delhi. Every day, thousands of people visit this monument. It was constructed in 1569-1572. And it is the first tomb surrounded by gardens and constructed on the Indian subcontinent by the Mughals. The architect of the tomb was Mirak  Mirza Ghiyath, and built by Biga Begum. It is also known as Purana Quila.  And the best time to visit this monument is 8.00 am to 6.00 pm, and the entry fee is Rs 10 Per Head for citizens of India and Rs 250 for foreign travellers. So you can’t skip this monument during your visit to Delhi.

Akshardham Temple

Akshardham Temple is also the most popular temple, and it is also known as Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple. It took five years to complete with the efforts of Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS)  with the help of thousands of artisans. It has been made in the memory of Jyotidar Swaminarayan Bhagwan.  This temple was spread over an 83,342 square feet area.  It is 350 feet long 315 feet wide 141 feet high monuments, which is very attractive. This temple comprises 200 stone sculptures, and it also consists of 234 carved pillars and 20000 statues of divine figures of India. And the temple is surrounded by Narayan Sarovar, which is a lake, and it represents 108 Hindu deities. The timing of entry is9.30 Amm to6.30 Amm. And the timings of the musical fountain is 7.45 pm and is very beautiful fountain. And the charges for this fountain are 80 per head. So you must visit the temple. 

Jama masjid

Jama Masjid is the largest mosque, which is situated in Delhi. It is originally called  Masjid-i-Jahan Numa. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.  The construction of this mosque began in 1650 and ended in 1656 at the cost of one million rupees. It is constructed with strips of red sandstone and white marble. The timings of this mosque are 7:00 am to 12.00 pm and 1.30pm to 6.30 pm, and there is no entry fee. Thousands of Muslims visit every day. So you must visit.
