How VCCS Helps in the Recovery of Missing Persons

Virtual Center for Child Safety (VCCS) is specifically focused on missing children, Senior Citizens, and special Person cases that the Punjab Safe Cities Authority carefully organizes. The success stories of several such persons, not only recovered but also safely reunited with their families, motivated the operational expansion throughout Pakistan.

How Virtual Center for Child Safety (VCCS) Search for Missing Persons

Step 1: Reporting a Child as Missing

The process starts when a person calls at 15 or contacts through WhatsApp +923090000015, where any missing person is reported. Upon receiving the report, a designated team starts working on a digital case file. Important information is gathered in a systematic way, such as:

  • The child’s full name and age
  • Physical description and the color of clothes worn
  • Any disabilities (e.g., hearing or speech issues)
  • Last known location
  • Any pictures or documents that can aid in identification

This information is captured and stored in the VCCS Database.

Step 2: Handling Cases as well as Search Operations

As soon as the case is initialized, the search process begins. Team collaborates with:

  • Local police departments
  • Child protection Bureau (CPB)
  • Media and awareness campaigns
  • Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)

We work closely with different NGOs, sharing and collecting data to improve search efforts. These partnerships help us identify missing persons faster and provide care when needed. The movements are tracked through Safe City cameras as CCTV footage is analyzed.

The children are mostly found within places that are open to the rest of the society, such as the park, the transport, or even Dargah. VCCS ensures that such children not only get protection, but they are taken good care of until they are able to be reunited with their families.

Step 3: Community Engagement

The general public is given the opportunity to report missing children, Senior Citizens, and special Person. A number of reporting citizens have assisted in resolving cases. VCCS also uses social media for advertisement and instant information sharing like Facebook, Tiktok and WhatsApp.

VCCS Workflow for Recovery and Reunification

Whenever someone calls to report a found child, Senior Citizen, or special Person, and a case is created, FR System reviews all past cases one by one. The system works with Advanced Technology to compare the age, clothes, and any noticeable features with information in their database. The data provided is refined with the photo and subsequently matched against the Face Recognition (FR) systems, which are designed to provide Functional alerts on automatic match checks.

Following the initial round of automated comparisons, The team manually verifies the case for gaps to ensure its accuracy. If the case is correct, the team begins contacting the caller who submitted the missing and found reports to help in the child’s retrieval. Because of alerts generated by the system during the FR system’s checks, many families are helped right away.

Children are taken to the Child Protection Bureau (CPB), and elderly individuals are kept in Edhi Homes, where they are safely held and well cared for while we attempt to trace their family to find relatives who would want to search for them through dialogue.

This helps organizations put policies in place to quickly and effectively support children and senior citizens who go missing, by following clear steps set by the organization.

Mera Pyara and Its Role in VCCS

The Mera Pyara is an important part of the Virtual Center of Child Safety (VCCS). It offers a convenient and accessible system by which the people can report the missing children. In case you know or find any missing child/person, then you can report the same by calling via 15 and press 3 or by sharing info through the Mera Pyara WhatsApp number +923090000015. This network operates under VCCS, and assists them in the search of the child and his or her family reunification.

So in this manner, Mera Pyara will be your companion in the project of getting the missing children back home safely.

A Growing Impact

The success of this system led to a pilot project in Punjab being adopted across the whole country Pakistan. With the scaling up of Virtual Center for Child Safety by Punjab Safe City Authority, an increasing number of children and missing persons are being recovered, families are being reunited, and lives are being redressed.

VCCS is not just a system; it is a family reunification pledge. Using AI technology, partnership, and public support, VCCS is restoring people to their families all over Pakistan.
