Dragon Movie Review:

Dragon Movie Summary: Raghavan decides to skip the hard work when he has 48 past-due bills to pay. It gets him far, but not for long. Is there a chance for him to get back, or will he not be able to?

Dragon Movie Review: One unique thing about Ashwath Marimuthu’s Dragon is that it never judges anyone in the movie, not when the hero makes bad choices or when a girl turns down a boyfriend or leaves the man she loves. Of course, Dragon has a lot of magic, just like the director’s first movie, Oh My Kadavule.

But the magic in Dragon comes from the creative freedom Ashwath uses in the film. In other words, too many things happen at the same time, and Raghavan (Pradeep Ranganathan) keeps finding easy solutions to all his problems, even though he makes careless choices over and over again. Even though these kinds of coincidences test your patience, the emotional link you feel with the characters and the thrills in the second half make the ride fun.

Raghavan is a typical Tamil hero. He rules the college with his loud personality (Hello, Gautham from Sillunu Oru Kaadhal!), doesn’t study well, and hasn’t graduated yet (hello, Dhanush from Padikathavan!). But despite his stubborn ego and cheating ways, he lives in a world where everyone is too kind and helpful, from his parents and friends who care about him to the college principal and a random stranger. But what makes this overly-nice world real is that the figures don’t just stand by him; they give him advice or a scolding before they offer to help. He also has some tricks up his sleeve that help him get ahead in life and at work.

All of these would have stood out like a sore thumb in any other movie. However, Ashwath’s magic wand—his interesting writing choices—make this an interesting trip. As an example, the choice to hide Raghavan and Keerthi’s (Anupama Parameswaran) love story until they are about to break up and then show us their cute romance through a sad song makes even the most boring plot line interesting.

Keerthi (Anupama Parameswaran), who plays Keerthi, is even better than Keerthi in OMK. She does everything she can to make Raghavan happy. Dragon, on the other hand, says that a lost chance is sometimes a missed chance. The rainy nights that imply a change, second chances, and college bonds are all things that the frames and characters remind you of from the director’s first movie, which works naturally for his second one.

There’s even an appearance from the famous line “Idhu ungallukku sonna puriyaadhu sir.” Aside from these, you also get hat tips to Premam, Simbu, and other movies and stars, which make the comedy scenes more interesting. VJ Siddhu and Harshath Khan were cast, and there were lots of fun meta references. Ashwath has done everything possible to appeal to young people. It’s not just the references that make the movie great; the small but highly charged lines like “Oru thappu panitu easy ah kadantharlaam nu nenaikurom, but adhu thoratite iruku la” are also very well written.

Also, the acting is just perfect. Raghavan, also known as Dragon, is played by Pradeep Ranganathan in a way that makes you care about him even though he keeps making bad decisions. The way Anupama plays Keerthi is just as passionate as always. This movie shows a lot of jokes and silly things, but there is something more important to look at. Feel bad about the choices we made? What if we end up back where we didn’t want to be? Would our lives be different? And a lot more questions that give the main plot depth and shape. Another great thing about the movie is the songs and how they are used to tell the story.

If you remember correctly, there are also a lot of coincidences, magic, and second chances in Oh My Kadavule. But the real changes happen in the characters’ lives, where everything they do has an equal and opposite response. In fact, the way that OMK goes into a dreamy world but doesn’t lose touch with reality is what made it so special, relatable, and emotional. The second Ashwath Marimuthu movie is just as fun, emotional, and full of energy as the first one.
