Robinhood Withdrawal: How to Cash Out on Robinhood?

When you cash out, the available funds in your account are sent directly to your linked bank account. Cash-outs only happen at the end of the business week after market close (5 pm PT).

How long does it take to cash out?

Expect 2-3 business days for funds to transfer to your linked bank account. If you do not see the money in your bank account after this period, please contact customer service.

How to cash out on Robinhood?

Log in to your investment brokerage account on Robinhood from a web browser

Click on the Account icon in the upper right-hand corner of your screen

Under the Invest tab, scroll down and click “Transfer To Your Bank” or click “Cash Out “

Review all of the information to ensure you are cashing out the correct amount, then click “Cash Out.”

Enter your 2-factor Authentication code if required

Click “Confirm”

Can I cash out my account early?

No, there is a mandatory one-day delay on all cash outs.

Can I withdraw my money differently?

Currently, Robinhood offers only one withdrawal option which is through the ACH/Direct Deposit program. You can find step-by-step instructions here.


What happens to my money if I don’t cash out the next day? If you do not complete your cash out the following day, your assets will automatically be liquidated and returned to you. If you want to transfer your assets back into your account, you can do so by purchasing shares again once the market opens for trading (9:30 AM ET).

Can I receive a paper check?

At this time we only offer one way to withdraw your money, which is via the ACH/Direct Deposit program.

What happens to my dividend and interest income?

Interest and dividends earned on your account will be added to the cash balance of your account at the end of the business day following market close (5:00 PM PT). When you request a withdrawal, you will receive the total cash balance in your account, which includes both principal and interest/dividends.

How do I change my bank account?

To change your bank account, you will need to use the ACH/Direct Deposit option to transfer money out of Robinhood. Your new bank account must be entered as a separate ACH transfer.

Is there a fee to cash out from Robinhood?

No, all cash outs from Robinhood are free. Please note that depending on your bank or our third-party partner, you may be charged a fee for cashing out via ACH. More information can be found on our cash-out FAQ.

How long before I receive my money?

You should expect funds to transfer to your bank account within 2-3 business days of completing the ACH/Direct Deposit process. Please note that it may take your bank an additional 1-2 days to complete the wire transfer after receiving it. If it has been more than 3 business days and you still don’t see your funds, please contact customer service here.

How much does it cost to cash out?

Minimums and fees:-

When cashing out on Robinhood, you’ll need to meet the minimum requirements on your account. If you have a standard cash or margin account or options investor account, you’ll need to meet the $1 minimum.

Before we begin, it’s important to note that there are fees involved when withdrawing your money from Robinhood. You can sell shares of stock free of charge on the app, but once you want to take out some hard cash, you’ll have to pay a fee to make it happen.


During the selling process, you enter how much stock you want to sell and at what price. You will see a summary of your order before placing it. The three points are:


1) Make sure there are available shares in your account for sale

2) Enter how many shares you’d like to sell

3) Finalize your order


When you go to sell, the app will ask you how many shares you want to sell and the price per share. Robinhood App “Summary” screen when placing an order to Sell Shares The app will also tell you how much money is in your account after they are sold.


There’s one more step to get your money. After placing the sell order, Robinhood will ask you to transfer the funds from your account by bank wire or ACH transfer. If you use an ACH transfer it can take up to 3 days for the money to come out of your account so plan accordingly.


When I cashed out through ACH, the first $1000 came out in ~4 days, and the remaining $2000 came out in ~8 days.


So to recap:

1) Sell Shares

2) Transfer Money

3) Wait for Money to come out of your account (3-5 business days for ACH transfers, 5-7 business days for wire transfers)
