Sponsors of the World's Richest Football Clubs

Betting on football has become a global phenomenon, with fans placing wagers on their favorite teams and matches. However, responsible gambling is crucial to ensure that betting remains a fun and enjoyable activity without leading to negative consequences. Now, let's delve into the world of football sponsorships and discover which clubs receive the most lucrative deals from their sponsors.

Let's make things clear, today, we will talk about shirt sponsorship, that is, about those emblems that we all see on football players' shirts. Companies such as Adidas and Nike refer to shirt sponsorship, namely sponsors of football uniforms.

Largest contract

So, the biggest sponsorship contract has been given to the richest club in this universe, namely Manchester United. The Mancunians have signed a contract with American giant General Motors, and now Pogba and Ibrahimovic are running around with a vast Chevrolet emblem. For this pleasure Americans pay £49 million a year (60.3 million euros), which on recalculation in our native rubles is almost 4.5 billion rubles.

The fact that an American company has become MU's sponsor is absolutely not coincidental. Let's remember that the owners of the club are the American Glazer family, which is actively attracting partners from the western hemisphere (one of the previous sponsors was the American insurance company AIG). By the way, the deal assumes that the players are obliged to go to work, i.e. to train only on Chevrolet cars, which they kindly donated to the company. Rooney and the company received Chevrolet Corvette and Camaro, but despite this, the English press actively discussed the reluctance of football players to move to these cars instead of the favorite Porsche and Bentley.

The second most lucrative contract

in the pocket of Chelsea and Manchester City. Londoners receive annually 40 million pounds (49 million euros) from the Japanese Yokohama Tyres for the opportunity to write Chelsea FC on their tyres. But the Japanese have not done it yet, as the tyres with engraved branding I have not found on the Internet, there is only a mock-up of how they should look like.

And in Manchester City, the sponsors, as you would expect, are from the UAE in the person of Etihad Airways. As you probably know, City is owned by 46-year-old Sheikh Mansour, a member of the ruling royal family of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Who do we have left from the English clubs?

Liverpool and Arsenal. The Merseysiders are backed by Standard Chartered, one of the oldest English banks, whose pre-tax profits last year totaled $1.1bn. So these guys can contribute £30m to Liverpool's piggy bank every year.

Finally, we get to Arsenal and Emirates. The famous airline supports a huge number of football clubs, but the biggest chunk went to the Londoners - £30m annually.

Spanish clubs

Finally, let's finish with the big-money English clubs and move to Spain. Here, as well as in the rest of Europe, the sponsorship price tag is approximately two times lower than in the Foggy Albion. Barcelona received the biggest sponsorship contract from Qatar Airways (35 million euros annually). By the way, Barcelona was famous for the fact that before the cooperation with the Qataris, never wrote on their shirts any names of commercial companies.

If you close your eyes and imagine Ronaldinho in a Barça uniform, everyone remembers the UNICEF logo, which was on the shirts of the Catalans for more than 10 years. By the way, unlike all other clubs, Barcelona itself transferred funds to UNICEF in the amount of 1.5 million euros annually to have the right to wear the uniform with the emblem of the international organization.

Let's move on to the Catalans' “favorite friends” - Real Madrid. The Royal Club is sponsored by Emirates Airlines and spends 30 million euros a year on the cream. Before that, for many years, the names of the bookmaker company Bwin and the German company Siemens were on the shirts of the galacticos.
