A Brief Overview Of The Hampta Pass Trek

Day 1: Drive from Manali to Jhobra, and then Trek from Jhobra to Chika

On the first day of the trek you will drive from the beautiful Manali towards Jhobra, which is the base camp of the trek. The drive takes you through the lush green valley of Kullu. You reach Jhobra by lunchtime and after a hearty meal get ready to climb 3 KM to reach the Chika camp. The trek is easy and relaxing.

Day 2: Chika to Balu Ka Gera

The overnight stay at Chika connects you to nature and you wake up to the sound of birds chirping. On day 2 you trek to Balu Ka Gera, the trek is filled with mountain streams and green meadows. You will also cross a mildly challenging rocky terrain and reach the Balu Ka Gera surrounded by tall mountains and highland pasture.

Day 3: Balu Ka Gera To Siagoru via Hampta Pass

On this day of the Hampta Pass Trek Route you cross the Hampta Pass, the same pass after which this trek is named. This is the toughest day of the trek as you will have to tackle a steep ascent to reach the mountain pass, but the challenge comes with a reward of 360° view of the mountain peaks. You climb down from the pass into the Spiti Valley and see the magical change in the scenery.

Day 4: Siagoru To Chatru

The rugged terrain of Spiti and Lahaul valley is in front of you on day 4. And you descend down to reach Chatru, a beautiful village surrounded by mountains and a river flowing next to it. 

You can add a day to your trip and drive to Chandratal which is a few kilometers from Chatru, the lake takes the name due to its unique shape. After witnessing the lake return back to Chatru.

Day 5: Chatru to Manali

You end your trek after taking a 85 KM drive back to Manali, the same place from where you started this journey.
