Method 4: Receive a confirmation email code for recovery

1) Go to https://mail.google.com/ in your browser and enter the Google email address you want to recover.

Or you can go directly to the Gmail Account Recovery Center, enter your Gmail address and click NEXT.

2) Click Forgot password?

3) Ignore the options that don't work for you by clicking "Try another method", otherwise my phone doesn't exist until you see the page: to get a confirmation code to your recovery email address.

4) Enter your recovery email address and click "SUBMIT" (you will be asked to read your recovery email address. To receive the verification code, first verify the recovery email address you added or in your account xxx ...@xx .xxx).

5) You should receive a confirmation message in your inbox to restore.

6) Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the verification steps and reset your Gmail password.

1) Still on the same page: To receive a confirmation code to your recovery email, click Try another method.

2) You will be prompted to enter an email address that you can confirm now. Enter an email address that you have access to and click NEXT.

3) Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your Gmail password.

  Method: Answer the mystery question

Another way to reset your password is to answer a privacy question added to your account. To do this, follow the steps below.

1) Go to https://mail.google.com/ in your browser and enter the Google email address you want to recover.

Or, you can go directly to the Gmail Account Recovery Center, enter your Gmail address, and click NEXT.

2) Click Forgot password?

3) Ignore options that don't work for you by clicking "Try another method" or "I don't have a phone" until you get to where you can answer the privacy question you added to your account.

4) Enter the answer to the secret question.

5) Follow the on-screen wizard to reset your password.

Sometimes you may also be directed to method 4 where you will need to enter your recovery email address. A little disappointing. But think about this: if someone knows the answer to your secret question, they can access your Gmail account. Great, right? So don't blame Google. Google takes security and privacy seriously, so you must verify your ownership of this Gmail account to sign in.
