Day 1: Haridwar to Guptkashi (210 km / 8–9 hrs)

The journey begins with an early morning departure from Haridwar. Drive through scenic towns like Rishikesh, Devprayag, and Rudraprayag, where the rivers meet. Arrive in Guptkashi by evening and check into your hotel.

Day 2: Guptkashi to Kedarnath (30 km drive + 16 km trek)

After breakfast, drive to Sonprayag and switch to local transport for Gaurikund. Begin your 16 km trek to Kedarnath through forests, streams, and stunning Himalayan landscapes. Reach by late afternoon and attend the evening aarti at the temple.

Day 3: Kedarnath to Guptkashi (16 km trek + 30 km drive)

Wake up early for morning darshan and explore the peaceful surroundings. After breakfast, begin the return trek to Gaurikund, followed by the drive back to Guptkashi.

Day 4: Guptkashi to Haridwar (210 km / 8 hrs)

2. Bhairavnath Temple

Located about 1 km uphill from the main shrine, this temple is dedicated to Bhairav Baba, believed to be the protector of Kedarnath Dham. It offers panoramic views of the Kedarnath valley and nearby Himalayan ranges. Locals believe Bhairav Nath watches over the region even when the main temple is closed during winter.

3. Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi

Right behind the temple stands the samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya, the 8th-century saint and reformer. He is credited with establishing the Char Dham pilgrimage and restoring the glory of Sanatan Dharma. The site was beautifully redeveloped after the 2013 floods.

4. Chorabari Tal (Gandhi Sarovar)

Just 3 km from the temple lies this glacial lake. It is believed that a portion of Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes was immersed here. The short trek to the lake offers spectacular Himalayan views, peaceful trails, and a serene atmosphere.

5. Vasuki Tal

Situated around 8 km from Kedarnath, Vasuki Tal is a high-altitude alpine lake surrounded by towering peaks and meadows. It is an ideal trek for those looking to explore the raw beauty of the Himalayas beyond the main shrine.
