NEPAL FLOOD DISASTER: THE WORLD HURRIES TOWARD THE 7-YEAR TRIBULATION

The devastating floods and landslides in the Himalayan region have once again demonstrated how suddenly catastrophe can strike. Communities can be destroyed within hours, families can lose loved ones, and people who were going about their ordinary lives can suddenly find themselves facing unimaginable circumstances.

For many, such disasters are simply tragic events reported in the news.

But for those who study the Word of God, events such as these should also remind us of something far more significant: the world is moving toward the prophetic events described in the Bible.

The Lord Jesus Christ Himself warned that the period preceding His return would be marked by extraordinary turmoil.

In Matthew 24:7, He said:

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”

These words should not be treated as merely ancient predictions with no relevance to the world today. They are part of the warnings given by the Lord Jesus Christ concerning the last days.

THE DAYS OF NOAH

Perhaps the most powerful warning Jesus gave was His comparison between the last days and the days of Noah.

Matthew 24:37 says:

“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

Think about what that means.

In Noah's generation, people continued with ordinary life while God's judgment was approaching. They ate, drank, married and made plans for the future. Life appeared to continue normally.

But Noah had been warned.

God told Noah that judgment was coming and instructed him to build the ark.

Eventually, the Flood came.

The people who had ignored the warning were suddenly confronted with the reality of God's judgment.

The Lord Jesus Christ used this historical event as a warning about His own coming.

That warning is extremely relevant today.

CURRENT EVENTS AND THE PROPHETIC FUTURE

The world is experiencing wars, political instability, natural disasters, economic uncertainty, technological transformation and increasing global unrest.

While no single flood or earthquake could be isolated declared to be the fulfillment of a particular prophecy.

The bigger picture is what matters.

The Bible describes a world moving toward an unprecedented period of judgment known as the seven-year Tribulation.

The Tribulation will be unlike anything humanity has previously experienced. Revelation describes devastating judgments involving war, famine, death, pestilence, earthquakes and catastrophic events affecting the earth.

The disasters we see today are not the seven-year Tribulation itself.

The 7 Year Tribulation is still future.

But the world is moving toward the prophetic circumstances Scripture describes.

And that should concern every human being.

THE RAPTURE AND THE COMING TRIBULATION

Before this terrible period, Scripture teaches that the Church will be caught away to meet the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 declares:

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout... and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.”

This event is commonly called the Rapture.

The Rapture is not something Christians should regard merely as an interesting theological subject.

It is a warning.

The opportunity to receive salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ is available now.

After the Rapture, the world will enter the horrifying period of Tribulation described throughout biblical prophecy.

That is why nobody should live as though nothing is going to happen.

JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY WAY

The most important message behind Bible prophecy is ultimately not about earthquakes, floods, wars or political events.

It is about Jesus Christ.

The Lord Jesus Christ said in John 14:6:

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

There is no alternative path to salvation.

The Lord Jesus Christ came into the world, died for our sins, was buried and rose again.

He offers forgiveness of sins and eternal life to those who believe in Him.

Therefore, the warnings contained in Bible prophecy should lead us to repentance and faith rather than complacency.

The world may continue eating, drinking, working, marrying, building businesses, making money and planning for tomorrow.

That is exactly what makes the warning from the days of Noah so powerful.

People can be completely occupied with ordinary life while extraordinary judgment is approaching.

DON'T WAIT

The question is not whether another disaster will appear in tomorrow's news.

The question is whether you are ready for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you have never trusted Him for salvation, don't wait for another catastrophe to strike. Don't wait for the 7 year horrific Tribulation to begin.

Don't wait for another warning.

Don't assume that you will have plenty of time later.

Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ today and be saved.

The world is moving toward the fulfillment of Bible prophecy, and the seven-year Tribulation described in Scripture will come.

But God's message is not merely a message of judgment.

It is also a message of salvation.
