5 Days Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Park Safari

This 5 Days Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Park safari is one of the amazing safaris in Uganda which will expose you to Uganda’s most visited national parks. Murchison Falls National Park is the largest national park in Uganda thus providing ample space for animal multiplication, this park is also famous for accommodating the strongest waterfalls in the whole world. The safari will expose you tree tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth National Park and this is the only park where you will spot tree-climbing lions while on a safari in Uganda. Other species to spot are; elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos in the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will track black and white rhinos, lions and leopards and these are the big 5 of the jungle. You will enjoy spotting other species like antelopes, monkeys, birds, and beautiful sceneries to mention but a few.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick-up and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Upon arrival, our driver guide will pick you up, brief you about the itinerary, and then set off for Murchison Falls which is located in the countryside. You will have an en-route to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will be tracking the rhinos and this tracking will take you about 2-3 hours, you will enjoy a hot lunch and thereafter, you will embark on the journey to Murchison Falls, arriving in the late evening, connect to your accommodation, check-in to the lodge for dinner and lodge.

Day 2: Game drive and launch cruise

Arise in the morning, enjoy a hot breakfast, meet your driver guide and the ranger, and head to the jungle where you will be welcomed by the herds of elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, giraffes, olive baboons, waterbucks, bushbucks, as you enjoy the view of different animals, you will be listening to sweet melodies of the birds that will be in the tree branches chirping. You will later return to the lodge in the midmorning, and enjoy the lodge ambiance and swimming, you will enjoy a scrumptious lunch and then in the evening you will embark on the launch cruise to the bottom of the falls, you will cruise through a school of hippopotamuses, enjoy the water birds that will be at the river bank. You will have a chance to visit the top of the falls to enjoy the magnificent view of the waterfalls, take videos and pictures then retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Check-out and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

This is another eventful day where you will enjoy a mouthwatering breakfast, check out of the lodge, and head to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is Uganda’s open savanna protected area which is a home to the tree-climbing lions, over 620 birds are found in this park. You will be able to drive via Fort-Portal road which will feed your eyes with the beautiful sceneries, homesteads, and tea plantations among others. Lunch will be served in Fort Portal and embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the park in the late evening, connect to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise

On the 4th day of 5 days of Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Park safari, you will wake up on a delicious breakfast, meet your ranger guide, and head to the open endless plains of Elizabeth National Park which are decorated with animals especially the Kasenyi sector which is known as the mating ground. This area is concentrated with animals, especially the kobs, waterbucks, and bushbucks, herds of buffaloes will be spotted, and elephants, lions, leopards, and hyenas, and these are the main savanna predators, you will return to the lodge after you a great experience in the jungle, enjoy a hot lunch and later go for a launch cruise on Kazinga Channel which is the best boat cruise in East African spilling both water-loving animals and, land animals and best sceneries. This water stretch will take you about 2 hours to enjoy schools of hippos, and herds of buffaloes will be seen at the water shore, elephants will be swimming, and birds will be seen, you will also enjoy the sunset and after the dusk, you will retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: game drive in Ishasha and departure

On your last leg of the trip, you will arise in the early morning, enjoy breakfast, get your luggage loaded on the car, and head to the Ishasha sector where you will be able to see tree-climbing lions, herds of buffaloes, elephants, leopards, and birds among other species. After that, you will bid farewell to Queen Elizabeth National Park and head back to Kampala/Entebbe. You will have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch and proceed with your journey with a second stopover at Equator in Kayabwe where you will enjoy the Equator experience as you take pictures while standing in both hemispheres of the Earth (Northern and Southern Hemisphere). After that, embark on your journey to Kampala or Entebbe for tour departure thus marking the end of your safari.
