The Markha Valley Trek is an experience that will leave you breathless, both literally and figuratively. This 9-day adventure through Ladakh, offered by KVT Adventures, takes you on a journey through some of the most stunning mountain scenery in the world. You’ll encounter towering Himalayan peaks, remote villages steeped in Ladakhi culture, and historical sites that whisper tales of times gone by.

This trek is rated level 2, so it’s a good choice for those with a good level of fitness. But don’t be fooled by the rating – the high altitude of Ladakh will still present a challenge. However, the rewards are more than worth the effort. The sense of accomplishment you’ll feel upon reaching the summit of any of the passes along the way will be unmatched.

Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect on the Markha Valley Trek:

Arrive by flight into Leh (3500m). The journey offers an unforgettable aerial view of the vast Himalayan ranges. Upon landing, a KVT representative will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel for check-in. Spend the remainder of the day resting and acclimatising to the altitude. In the evening, you may take a gentle walk through the local market area.

The trail follows the river, which you will cross several times. Lunch will be served at Sara, often providing welcome shade.
