How to use Google Optimize Tool?

Step:1 Start For Free

First of all login to the Google Account linked to Analytics in the browser, then go to the Google Analytics website and click on Start for Free to use the free version.

Step:2 Link Property

Now we will connect the Analytics account to Google Optimize, for this tap on the Link to Google Analytics section in the right side and click on Link Property.

Now select the Analytics property you want to add to Google Optimize and click on the Skip For Now Link Button.

Step:4 Get Snippet

Now a popup window will open, in which you have to click on Get Snippet.

Step:5 Google Analytics Tracking Code

Now another Popup Window will open in front of you, in which your Google Analytics Tracking Code will be there, in this you will get two codes, one of Optimize Plugin and the other of Google Analytics Tracking Code.

Step:6 Add Analytics Code

You only need one or another code in this, you can either add the earlier code to the Add Analytics Code in your blog or replace it with another code.

Step:7 Add Code

Go to the next page by clicking on the Next button, here Google suggests you to add this code that hides the Page Snippet for the user to see only your Variant Content. If you want, you can add this code to your Header and Footer section, after that click on Done.

Step:8 Add Chrome Extension

After this, if you want to use Google Optimize's Visual Editing Interface, then you have to install Google Optimize's Chrome Extension.

Step:9 Create Experiment

Once you have connected Analytics to the Optimize Tool and added it to the Code WordPress Site, then you can do your first Experiment, for this you have to click on Create Experiment.

Step:10 Experiment Name And Url

After this a page will open in which add the name for the experiment and the url of the page on which the experiment is to be done and click on the Create button in the top right side.

Step:11 Setup Details

Now on the next page you have to setup all the details for your experiment like –

Variant Name which you cannot change.

Within each version, you have to select the percentage of the visitors whom you want to show the alternative design.

Enter a primary objective for your experiment.

Enter your Detail and Concept under Purpose.


Step:12 Save Details

Once you have entered all these details, then after that you must click on the Save button.

Step:13 Customize Variants

Once you have completed the above mentioned setup, then you can customize your variant, for this, click on the version you want to define, so that you will go to the front end visual editor of your site.

Step:14 Top Bar

It has a top bar at the top which runs with this visual mode. It tells you which experiment you are in, which edition you are working on, and on which device you are seeing these changes.

Step:15 Smaller Bar

Whereas the Smaller Bar at the bottom will tell you in which version you are going to save this version, you can do this directly in the Visual Editor or in CSS by clicking on the <> icon. You have to define other Variants in Experiment. There is no need to go to Optimize Dashboard, you can do everything from this bar.

Step:16 Launch Experiment

When you are satisfied with the A/B Test, you can come out of the Experimental Draft Mode and launch it, then you must have understood that in this way you can also use the Google Optimize Tool.
