What is the history of jQuery

jQuery was first released in January 2006 at BarCamp NYC by John Resig. It is currently managed by a team of developers led by Timmy Wilson. John Resig wanted to separate JavaScript from HTML tags, so that the code was clearly visible and easy to understand. That's why "jQuery" was developed because of their starting work on a JavaScript library.
