Baidu is a Chinese search engine website, which provides a 'web search service' like Google. It was launched by Robin Li in January 2000.

Baidu is the largest search engine in China. And is the 3rd largest search engine in the world. However, apart from China, it is used in only a few countries like Taiwan, South Korea and America. Still, it is no less than Google in terms of search engine.

Baidu Search is used by Chinese people to search for information available on the web. But this information is in Chinese language and results are also provided in Chinese language. That's why it remains China's number one local search engine. And has occupied 80 percent of China's online search area.
