What is SMPS

SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply) is an electrical device that provides power to electronic components and circuits. Most of the electronic equipment used in home or office requires low power DC voltage. This led to the development of Switched Mode Power Supplies (SMPS).

This device does the conversion from high voltage AC to low voltage DC. SMPS supplies power for various system components of the computer, such as the motherboard and device drives.
