DLP projectors have a line of microscopic mirrors. This projection is either tilted toward or away from the light source in the projector to create a lighter or darker pixel on the screen. DLP projectors are available in single-chip and three-chip versions.
Single-chip DLP delivers the sharpest image you can typically find in a home projector. Whereas all other types of projectors use three chips, also known as "panels". In this, a single-chip DLP projector uses a color wheel that rotates between the three primary colors.
