First, install and activate the WP-Optimize plugin on your site. This is a very popular WordPress plugin that cleans your WordPress database.

This plugin deletes unwanted data like trashed, unapproved, spam comments, pingbacks, trackbacks and expired transient etc.

Once the plugin is activated, it will add a new menu item to your WordPress dashboard with the WP-Optimize label. Just click on WP-Optimize >> Database. This will take you to the optimization page.

In this page, you will see a number of optimization items that the plugin can optimize. Go through each option carefully as you are working on your site's database. A little mistake can break your site.

You can select the optimization item as per your requirement.

After selecting the optimization item, hit on the Run on all selected items button. WP-Optimize will start optimizing your WordPress database.

Apart from this, you can do optimization by clicking on Run optimization.
